I have a true passion for the process of mediation. My personal goal as a Mediator is to utilize my learned skills to empower each of the parties I work with. I will achieve this by providing an atmosphere based on impartiality, transparency, and confidentiality. Using a collaborative approach to problem solving, I will encourage each party to explore multiple options and possible solutions to the issues causing the dispute. The goal of each session is to reach a fair, satisfactory agreement for all involved so that they can move forward.
Mediation is a voluntary process that allows the disputing parties to openly discuss the issues that are causing conflict. The Mediator, an impartial third party, will create a controlled environment that will promote the creation of possible solutions. The parties will then discuss the possible solutions and will come to an agreement, settlement, or understanding. I, as the mediator, will help clarify the terms of the agreement and confirm that all of the parties understand them. The final agreement will be binding and enforceable.
Family mediation is the use of an impartial person, the mediator, who facilitates communication between the parties and redirects the focus to the best interest of the child(ren). Family mediation deals with cases that fall under the Family Code, primarily divorce and/or involving children and modification cases. It also covers child protective services, parent-child relationship, and juvenile justice issues.
Mediation is a powerful form of altenative dispute resolution. I have provided just a few examples of the civil cases that can be resolved with mediation. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding mediation or how mediation can settle your dispute.
